Advanced Recognition and Certification (ARC)

Get project certified online in just 3 weeks

What is the ARC program?

The Advanced Recognition and Certification (ARC) is your fast-track to admission to the Institute of Project Management as a Certified Project Officer, Professional, Master, or Director.

The workshop series is a wholly interactive experience in which you initiate, plan, deliver, and close an actual project.

Over 12 collaborative sessions, you will leverage your latent project experience, connecting a common frame of reference, common purpose, and common-sense approach to the cohesive delivery and oversight of professional and personal projects.

Who should attend?

People from any industry who contribute to or manage projects or lead project teams.

This ARC workshop is strictly capped at 25 participants so that you can be sure of the full attention of your expert trainer throughout the program and whenever you need it.

The ARC workshop is also self-contained in that you complete assessment activities in class with no ongoing homework or examination requirements.

What methodology do you teach?

Importantly, we do not advocate using one specific methodology, as our experience in a wide range of global industries shows us that organizations inevitably develop and employ their own unique framework.

Using the proven good practices of PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, ISO 21500, and other methods, we encourage our learners to think critically about what is ‘best’ practice for their own projects and operating environment.

How does it work?

The virtual version of ARC is a genuine, peer-to-peer facilitated learning experience that goes beyond the traditional textbook, video, or PowerPoint pedagogy.

The program is delivered over 12 x 120-minute online sessions (see the full session plan below).

Unlike most webinars today, online sessions are 100% live with no pre-recorded content.

You cannot just ‘press play’ and listen to a lecture – the level of interaction demanded through discussion, breakout participation, and collaborative portfolio building means that your classmates depend on you to stay actively engaged and contribute throughout.

Sessions are still recorded for students to review privately; you can also catch up at any time by completing the equivalent unit in OPEN, your online textbook!

And because we use ZOOM to collaborate, virtual classes can be accessed via any desktop computer, iOS / Android tablet, or phone.

You join via your OPEN account for high-quality streaming, and we request that you share your webcam while you chat to create a panel-like feel.

Our breakout feature also makes it easy for you to actively participate, work together, and exchange ideas with your peers, and you can virtually raise your hand at any time to get the facilitators’ attention and ask questions.

What will I gain?

Candidates who successfully complete the ARC workshop are admitted to the Institute of Project Management at a level that aligns with their project management experience and demonstrated skills.

  • Certified Project Officer (CPO) – knows projects
  • Certified Project Professional (CPP) – leads projects
  • Certified Project Master (CPM) – leads project teams
  • Certified Project Director (CPD) – leads project managers

Who is my instructor?

Like all our Certified Project Trainers, Chandrasekaran Jayaraman, CPD is:

  • a proven industry expert with a minimum of 10 years of practical experience in leading complex projects, programs, and portfolios of work
  • an inspiring communicator
  • a creative and critical thinker, and
  • a trained educator, facilitator, and mentor.

Importantly, he is not a professional lecturer who has only learned project management from textbooks and classrooms.

JC superimposes a wealth of project skills and experience from all stakeholder perspectives, bringing project management to life.

Why should I certify with the Institute?

Career opportunities. There is a high demand for project skills in virtually every industry, with salaries to match.

Experience counts. We don’t ask project veterans to start from scratch.

Lifelong credentials. Our certifications last a lifetime. No sneaky subscription fees or exam re-sits are required.

Employers’ choice. Employers know us and the high caliber of our alumni.

Best practice. We teach a range of good practices so our alumni can bring their best to each unique project.

We’re global. We’re internationally accredited by the US government and its treaty partners. We have alumni in 47 countries and counting.

Unlike ‘Paper PMs’ (good at the rote memorization of obscure formulas and highly complex process maps that don’t resemble how projects are delivered in the real world), our certification holders are the project leaders, problem solvers, and innovators of the 21st century.

How much does it cost?

US$1,500 (₹1,25,000) includes all workshop resources (including student handouts, assessment tools, project management templates and e-book), as well as lifetime certification with the Institute of Project Management.

Lifetime Certification means you do not need to pay an annual membership or subscription fee to maintain your Certification – it also means you never need to re-sit or retake an examination at this level.
